Five on Friday

Friday, May 30, 2014

1. We just returned from Rosemary Beach, Florida. It was so relaxing, more on the trip later.

2. I must be nesting already, because I have been organizing like crazy lately. I would love to follow this, but I always fail after the first few tasks. :(

3. We will be putting this table together this weekend. We already have a play table in our playroom, but this one is going in our kitchen for a table for Scarlett to sit at. I really wanted to stain this, but I think I am to lazy. Maybe I will see if I can talk my husband into doing it???

4. I have so many posts to catch up on. I need to post our gender reveal. We kept it really low key and I made homemade scratch offs. I also need to post some pregnancy updates.

5. I really want to splurge and buy these beauties, but I have been in major saving mode lately. I might have to just bite the bullet. What do you think.

Exciting News!

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

I'm so happy to share that we are expecting a little brother or sister for Scarlett this November! I found out really early and it was very stressful waiting for that first appointment. We knew we wanted to start trying after Scarlett's first birthday and I couldn't be more thrilled with God's timing. Scarlett and the new baby will be almost exactly 2 years apart. I'm going to try and do weekly updates like I did with Scarlett, so here's the first one. ( I wrote this some time ago, and now am 16 1/2 weeks and we know the gender!)

Weekly Status: 12 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm still at my pre-pregnancy weight

Maternity Clothes: regular clothes, but I did throw on my maternity jeans for fun.

Gender: I would find out today if I could!

Movement: nothing yet. I heard you feel it sooner the second time around.

Sleep: not very good I've been tossing and turning a lot.

What I miss: eating healthy.

Cravings: In the beginning I was craving smoothies and fruit and now its all the bad stuff like hamburgers and fries.

Best Moment This Week: Celebrating Easter with little miss. We had such a special time this year.

Lawrence, Kansas

Monday, May 19, 2014

One of our favorite things to do every once in awhile is head up to Lawrence, KS for the day. It's about a 30 minute drive and there's always great places to eat and shop, not to mention HUGE KU fans over here. Scarlett's favorite place has to be The Toy Store. If you are ever in that area and have kids check it out. 3 floors of complete kid bliss. My favorite floor is the bottom floor, filled with crafts and outdoor toys. Here's some pictures from our day trip.

playing a little piano

petting dogs at the dog store

she's never seen one of these and of course thought it was a chair.

push this little grocery cart all around the store filling up her cart. The employee probably hated us!

having a tea party of course.

Five on Friday

Friday, May 16, 2014

1. Baby girl has been sick this week so we have been doing a lot of snuggling, hoping she perks up for the weekend.

2. Swim classes! I just signed us up for swim lessons this summer. I am so excited, especially because we had a brand to facility open up in our town just for littles.

3. Rosemary Beach-We are traveling here just the three of us very soon! Can't wait for another vacation to our favorite place!

4. Radio Red Flyer Glide on-scooter-Scarlett loves this thing! Right now she's using it to scoot around, but as she gets older it turns into an actual
scooter. We got ours from Target.

5. Barefoot Contessa- She's always been my go-to, but lately I have been making so much from her cookbooks and nothing ever disappoints. This is my favorite dish this week.

Five on Saturday

Saturday, May 3, 2014

1. Yum...I love fish tacos...might be making these this weekend

2. Surprise, Surprise another food item. These babies are always in our kitchen cookie jar. I promise you they are better then Reese's. Trust me!

3. These two. Scarlett just loves her doggies so much, especially Roman.

4. Ahh.. I love this stuff. I use it as a eye cream, dry spots, for my feet...has so many uses without the yucky ingredients of petroleum.

5. I'm so excited to spend all weekend outside in this gorgeous weather! Yay, for the rain going away!
